What's in a name?

My name is Maryalice, kind of a long first name and people have a tendency to shorten long names. So here is a list of what other's call me:

Mallie
M.A.
Never Mary or Alice, those two just won't do.........I am not sure why the parts of my name bother me so much, they just don't seem to be me.
My daughter's name is Zoya.
Preferred AKA's: None
Tolerated AKA's: Zoe Zoe, Zoe, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, Zoya baloya
Despised AKA's: Zoga (when she writes her y's they look like g's), Beans (when I first told my dad her name he thought I named her Soy like Soy beans)
My son's name is Devon.
Preferred AKA's: DK (he thinks this is funny because it also stands for Donky Kong), Devon Shadow
Tolerated AKA's: Dev, Dev the Bev, Devonater
Despised AKA's: Devon Dove Dove

I think Malice is a funny name for you because you are so the opposite of malice. I like calling you Mallie, but have recently been thinking of changing it to Molly. Very wholesome don't you think? But Mallie makes me think of Malomars, which are delicious.
